Work Schedule Flexibility to work 40 hours weekly within the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays, and occasional Saturdays. This is a full-time (exempt) position providing services in-person for students at college and community locations. Position Purpose:
Piedmont Virginia Community College is seeking an innovative and collaborative individual to join the faculty as a 12-month hybrid Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing faculty member.
Appointment Date:
July 1, 2026. PVCC desires applicants with a commitment to the community college mission; teaching, learning, and student success; integration of learning outcomes assessment into course development and teaching; use of current and emerging technologies to enhance instruction; and other responsibilities that contribute to the progress of the college. This is a 12-month faculty position at Piedmont Virginia Community College, supporting the college's integrated academic and workforce mission. This hybrid faculty position teaches both credit-bearing and non-credit, skills-based courses supporting PVCC's Biotechnology academic programs and emerging academic and professional offerings in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. The successful candidate will teach a minimum of 9-11 credit hours and 136-165 non-credit hours per fall and spring semesters, and 6-7 credit hours and 90-110 non-credit hours which may include day, evening and weekend, off-campus, or distance education courses . The candidate's workload may shift instructional offerings (e.g., credit/non-credit) based on the needs of the College and program. Finalists will be invited to present a teaching demonstration.

KSA's/Required Qualifications Master's degree in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, or related field. Two years of related occupational experience. Demonstrable technical experience with biotechnology or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Industry-recognized certification(s). Additional Considerations Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, or related field. Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population. Demonstrated experience with course and program development. Experience advising and mentoring students. Experience teaching or tutoring online and in-person. Experience teaching in higher education, especially within a community college.
