Thus, the Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should be interpreted in the context of the related departmental and collegiate teaching goals. Teaching - Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties include teaching introductory chemistry courses, primarily General Chemistry lecture and labs. Minimum Experience/Education UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. Preferred Education, Skills and Experience Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience teaching introductory chemistry courses and experience in curriculum/pedagogy development. We especially welcome applicants with experience and interest in utilizing evidence-based scientific teaching and learning practices to foster student success in general education and introductory chemistry courses. Necessary Licenses/Certifications Required qualifications include a master's or doctoral degree (or the equivalent) in chemistry or a related area, and at least one semester of teaching experience (including TA experience) at the college level.
