JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have or be willing to obtain verification of the following approved training courses: Concussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, First Aid/Health & Safety, and Protecting Students from Abuse. Candidates should be experienced track and field coaches with knowledge of competitive rules and techniques. The coach must be able to serve as a team leader, coordinating with the broader academic and co-curricular programs within the school.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The coach is responsible for implementing a coaching philosophy aligned with the values and expectations of middle school athletics.

Responsibilities include:

• Train and develop athletes' skills to prepare them for high school interscholastic competition
• Manage program inventory, ordering equipment, budgeting, and conducting program evaluations
• Model sportsmanship, enforcing team discipline, and supporting student well-being
• Ensure alignment with KPSAA policies and philosophies as outlined in the KPSAA manual
• Reporting to and working under the direct supervision of the building administrator

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must complete approved courses in Concussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, First Aid/Health & Safety, and Protecting Students from Abuse. All certifications and verifications must be completed on or before the first contract day.
