Job Description
Soccer Coach / Soccer Athletic Assistant Director Hermitage School District The Hermitage Coach serves as the team's leader or assistant. From game preparation to the game itself, the coach provides guidance and instruction to help the team succeed. They are in charge of, or assist in, formulating game plans, designing training programs, holding team meetings, and managing team members. Apart from game-related activities, coaches are responsible for managing and participating in outreach programs, hosting/participating in sports camps, and establishing team-building sessions on or off the field. When a player needs additional coaching, the coach is there to encourage their growth and success in all areas of their school experience. Must have strong discipline, patience, good sportsmanship, and strong management and leadership skills. Since the coach works with a team and other sports professionals, they also demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills across the district, schools, and the community. A list of specific responsibilities required of the Hermitage School District Coach is listed below, whether assuming the head or assistant coach responsibilities. Maintains communication and aids administration, including principal and superintendent, by providing information for communication purposes on websites and social media, schedules, and more. Adheres to all matters involving the state and district policy Schedules practices, games, and officials Prior to all scheduled athletic events, the officials and opponents are confirmed for participation and are confirmed for the time and location of the event. Ensures physicals are given by the team physician and up-to-date examinations, including adherence to drug policies Establishes crew for home games Development of practice and game plan with coaches Find workers for scoreboard, clock, play clock, and announcer Ensure that the scoreboard, electronic equipment, and facility are in working order prior to the game day and are checked and operational for competition. Pre-game speaking/announcements typed out prior to the game Officials office or workspace is clean, and an ice chest of drinks for officials is prepared prior to the game Arranges for the recording of ball games Ensure student workers are in place for the sport, including water Inputs information into the DragonFly AAA required reporting program Makes sure sports coaches are updated with certifications and professional development Works collaboratively with coaches to ensure a successful student sport program Organizing fundraisers and donations Adds advertisement of sponsors to fencing of the field or auditorium where the sport is played Being able to navigate through Hudl Reporting score to the scorebook live Report the needed improvements in the maintenance of facilities to the Maintenance Supervisor. Organize away game travel forms, communication, and transportation is prepared in advance of the year and game competition date with the Transportation Supervisor Follow all Federal and State laws, rules, and regulations Follow all Hermitage School District Policies, Handbooks and Directives Other duties as assigned by the superintendent Athletic Director Job Description Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Required with School Bus Endorsement Act as an advisor to the administration on matters involving the athletic policy. Aid the principal and superintendent in the selection of coaching personnel and volunteers to be recommended to the Board of Education for all coaching positions. Work with coaching staff in the development of an athletic program that meets the needs of the students. Ensure that all activities conform to the regulations of Arkansas Activities Association and the District. Assist the coaching staff in solving any staff, student-athlete, or parent problem that a rise. See that arrangements have been made for physical examinations for those squads that have physicals given by the team physician and make sure all athletes have up-to-date examinations, including any drug compliance policies. Review and revise the coach's policy manual and the student athletic handbook. 8. Attend athletic booster club meetings. Help schedule all athletic contests. Coordinate the scheduling of athletic contests with the scheduling of other school activities through the High School Principal. Provide copies of all schedules for the principal, superintendent, coaches, and media. Employ officials for all athletic contests as per the regulations of the athletic conference of which the school is a member. Prepare mail and file all officials' contracts. Prior to all scheduled athletic contests, contact the officials and opponent school to confirm the date, time and location of the contest. Attend or arrange to have athletic department staff in attendance at major athletic contests. See that all athletic facilities are properly prepared for competition. (Scoreboard, lights, P.A., field marking and mowing, etc.) Report needed improvement of maintenance of facilities to the Maintenance Supervisor. Other duties assigned by the superintendent The above list is not exhaustive as this position is a reflection of the office of the superintendent and district. At a minimum, employment eligibility requirements are to be over the age of 16 and provide a driver's license and social security card or other documentation of eligibility to work in the United States of America. Applicants for certified positions must have appropriate certification with the ADE, DESE or eligible to obtain such. All applicants must be willing to undergo background and child maltreatment checks and other screenings as required by the Hermitage School District.
