Summary of Job Duties:
The Associate Head Wresting Coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach in the successful execution in planning, developing and administering all phases of the men's wrestling program. All duties and responsibilities are governed by state, federal and university policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree; At least three (3) years coaching experience at the Division I level. Preferred Education and Experience Previous Head Coaching Experience; Previous Division I Coaching Experience. Job Duties & Responsibilities Supervise student-athletes during practices and matches, observing and evaluating performance and demonstrating proper techniques; Will act as the lead recruiter and maintain a database of high-quality freshman and transfer student-athletes; Scout assigned opponents as assigned by the head coach; Assist the head coach with budget preparation, including scholarship and revenue share offers; Coordinate team travel arrangements; Monitor academic progress towards degree for student-athletes; Plan and implement training programs for student-athletes; Physically demonstrate all wrestling moves with student-athletes during practice as well as run through drills, evaluate and provide corrective instruction; Compliance with all NCAA, conference and institutional rules; Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of NCAA, conference and University rules; Ability to interact in a professional manner with people and present a positive image of the University; Ability to physically work out students in practice and warm them up for competition meets; Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; Must have a good driving record, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance; Ability to work nights and weekends with extensive travel.
