Job Description

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Swim Coach Assistant and Head Swim Coach (part-time, temporary, non-benefited). This position serves at the discretion of the department director. This opportunity is only open to: 1) current regular City of Chandler employees, 2) those participating in a city approved internship or apprenticeship program, and 3) temporary employees who are paid through the city payroll system. Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler. Our employees play today for a better tomorrow. Who we are looking for Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. Chandler Aquatics is seeking a responsible, self-motivated, and organized Head Swim Coach to lead one of our four recreational swim teams. We are looking for someone with several years of swimming team coaching experience and who can write swim practices for all levels. This person will also need to demonstrate team leadership and be able to coach and develop a team of coaches.   • 1 year of high school; and
  • 1 year of experience coaching a swim team or as a swimming instructor; and
  • A StarGuard Lifeguard Certification; and
  • A Starfish Instructor Certification within 2 months of hire or promotion; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Head Swim Coach - $24.69 Minimum Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or GED; and
  • 2 years of experience coaching a swim team or as a swimming instructor; and
  • A StarGuard Lifeguard Certification; and
  • Starfish Swim Instructor Certification within 2 months of hire or promotion; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Desired Qualifications
  • 2 years of swim instructing experience The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as a condition of employment.
An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
