Developmental Swim Team Supervisor and Swim Coach EVO Swim School / Rio Swim Club Gilbert, AZ Job Details Part-time $21 - $28 an hour 23 hours ago Benefits Paid training On-the-job training Employee discount Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Flexible scheduling Teamwork Program development Administrative experience Organizational skills Leadership Teaching Full Job Description Overview The Developmental Swim Team Supervisor and Swim Coach is responsible for leading and overseeing the developmental swim team program while providing high-quality coaching to athletes of all ages and abilities. This position combines athlete development, staff leadership, program management, parent communication, and administrative responsibilities to create a positive and successful experience for swimmers and their families. Program Leadership & Management
  • Oversee the daily operations of the developmental swim team program, serving 500+ athletes annually.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate training plans for swimmers ages 4-18.
  • Manage practice schedules and group placements to ensure appropriate athlete progression.
  • Conduct swimmer evaluations and recommend advancement between developmental groups.
  • Coordinate coach assignments and practice coverage to ensure consistent supervision and instruction.
  • Assist in planning seasonal programming, team goals, and athlete development pathways.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all athletes and families. Coaching & Athlete Development
  • Coach swimmers of varying ages and skill levels in competitive swimming techniques and fundamentals.
  • Provide individualized stroke instruction and in-water corrections utilizing USA Swimming standards and best practices.
  • Teach and reinforce proper technique in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, starts, turns, and race strategy.
  • Monitor athlete progress and maintain detailed developmental records.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, goal setting, accountability, and personal growth.
  • Prepare swimmers for successful participation in practices, swim meets, and advancement within the program. Staff Leadership & Development
  • Supervise, mentor, and support developmental swim coaches.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new coaching staff.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching resources, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure consistency in coaching methods, expectations, and athlete instruction across all developmental groups.
  • Serve as a resource for coaches regarding athlete development, behavior management, and parent communication. Parent & Member Relations
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding swimmer progress, program expectations, and upcoming events.
  • Conduct swimmer evaluations and provide constructive feedback to families regarding advancement and development goals.
  • Address parent questions, concerns, and conflicts professionally and promptly.
  • Build strong relationships with athletes and families to support retention and program growth.
  • Collaborate with club leadership to maintain a high level of member satisfaction. Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain attendance records, swimmer evaluations, and athlete development documentation.
  • Assist with payroll processing and coach scheduling.
  • Support registration, group placements, and program organization.
  • Coordinate communication through email, phone, and in-person meetings.
  • Assist with budgeting, equipment inventory, and resource planning as needed. Swim Meet & Event Operations
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing swim meets and team events.
  • Coordinate athlete entries, meet preparation, and coach assignments.
  • Support meet operations, timing systems, volunteer coordination, and event logistics.
  • Ensure athletes and families receive timely meet information and expectations. Qualifications Previous competitive swimming and/or swim coaching experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of USA Swimming techniques, athlete development, and stroke mechanics.
  • Experience leading teams, supervising staff, or mentoring coaches preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with athletes, parents, coaches, and club leadership.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Safety Training certifications (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and swim meet schedules as needed.
