Job Description
Notre Dame High School, Belmont (NDB) seeks a passionate, experienced, and dynamic Head JV Girls Volleyball Coach to head our Girls JV volleyball team. NDB competes in the West Bay Athletic League and CCS/CIF. The JV Volleyball Coach is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to student athletes on the JV volleyball team. The Coach will instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, student-athletes shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence. This position reports to and works closely with the Athletic Director and Varsity Head Volleyball Coach who oversees the NDB Volleyball program. Our athletic program plays a vital role in promoting physical wellness, teamwork, and school spirit. Responsibilities ? In collaboration with other volleyball coaches, assist in the selection of athletes for the team. ? Design and lead structured practices that develop individual skills and team strategies. ? Coach all scheduled JV matches and tournaments. ? Attend Athletic Department Meetings ? Verifies that all athletes have all forms and obligations cleared through the Athletic Trainer's office before athletes are allowed to tryout/practice. ? Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that reflects the values and mission of Notre Dame Belmont. ? Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and athletic staff regarding schedules, expectations, and progress. ? Collaborate with the Varsity Head Coach to align coaching strategies, player development, and overall program goals. ? Support student-athlete academic achievement and uphold athletic eligibility standards. ? Supervise student-athletes during all team-related activities and ensure a safe, respectful environment. ? Follow the guidance of NDB's Athletic Department Handbook for self, parents, coaching staff and student-athletes. ? Serve as a mentor and role model for young women in a faith-based educational setting. ? Communicate regularly with Head Varsity volleyball coach, athletes, parents and athletic department staff through email or the use of NDB's team correspondence app. ? Must attend Spring Athletics Sports Banquet.
Qualifications:
? This position requires a passion for volleyball, strong leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and develop student-athletes. ? Successful candidates will be positive, and exude high energy. ? Experience in athlete retention and recruitment. ? Effective communication to enhance the program. ? Partners well with parents, staff, community leaders, etc. ? Volleyball coaching experience required, high school level preferred ? Ability to work weekday afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends. ? Certifications in NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion Training, Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training, and First Aid/CPR.Similar jobs in Belmont, CA
