Basketball Full Job Description About Us:

Velocity HQ is an indoor basketball facility that specializes in teaching kids ages 4-17 the fundamentals of basketball. We also offer court rentals, 1-on-1 basketball training, AAU teams, and seasonal basketball camps.

Our work environment:

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Basketball Coach that is also wiling to work as a 3 Point Play Zone team player, leading, and assisting where needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Head Coaching one of our AAU Travel Basketball teams from ages 9-17.

Responsibilities:

Coach 2-hr long practices with appropriate drills and intentionality. (2 times a week) Weekend availability to take teams out when necessary. (2 times a month) Treat players, parents, and answer questions/concerns in a professional manner. Maintain team dynamics on and off the court - with players and families. Keep all equipment, floors, and gym in good condition. Schedule tournaments and manage calendars/communication systems with parents. Maintain accurate records of players and their contact information. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, tourney entry, and info gathering. Answer questions from visitors and provide information about the company. Assist with special projects as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

Previous Basketball Coaching/Playing experience. Perform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds at a time Must be knowledgeable on the game of basketball High energy personality Works well with children (boys and girls) of all ages (4yrs-18yrs) Excellent communication skills Experience playing organized college basketball Detail-oriented, analytical, attentive, and motivating. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, decision making, and communication skills.
