Job Description

Under general supervision, provides journey level coaching and instruction duties in support of competitive water polo program, including assisting in the supervision of all aspects of the competitive water polo program; and teaching, administration and deck coaching at all team events and functions. The position will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the participants in the program by enforcing policies and procedures as needed. Assists in planning and supervising workouts for the water polo team. Promotes the water polo team program. Communicates as necessary with parents and other coaches regarding assignments, water polo player's progress, and upcoming events. Provides instruction as needed to water polo players in all facets of water polo such as ball handling, shots, strategy, defense, etc. Attends water polo tournaments as scheduled. Transports team to events as scheduled. Records and submits results from water polo tournaments. Assumes responsibility for the overall safety of the water polo team participants. Assists with preparation of all special events relating to the water polo team. Conducts try outs for the team and parent orientations. Performs related duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent
GED. AND
Two (2) years of experience teaching or coaching a water polo team or competing at a collegiate or national level.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Must obtain Class C with passenger endorsement within 90 day of appointment.
Special Requirements:
Must be available to work during team practice and competition hours including evening, weekend, and holidays. May be required to work overtime. Must maintain a level of physical fitness to meet Department standards. May be required to pass a background investigation. Requires occasional travel.
