Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Basketball Coach to join our team during our Summer Camp. The ideal candidate has had experience playing basketball in a competitive setting and is passionate about sports and physical education, with the ability to teach the fundamental skills of basketball, and the value of sportsmanship. The coach will plan and implement engaging activities that promote teamwork, physical fitness, and fun.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive sports and physical activity program suitable for children in Kindergarten to 6th grade. Teach fundamentals basketball skills. Organize and oversee field day activities and team-building exercises. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and teamwork. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students. Adapt activities to meet the needs and skill levels of all students. Communicate effectively with the Director, Assistant Director, students, parents, and staff. Monitor and manage sports equipment and supplies. Uphold E-PLEX policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with children in a sports or recreational setting. Over 5 years experience playing basketball in a competitive setting. Strong knowledge of basketball. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and engage children of all ages and skill levels. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Positive attitude, patience, and a passion for working with children.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree or coursework in Physical Education, Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field (highly preferred) Coaching certification or relevant training in youth sports (highly preferred)

Requirements:

Must be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays (12:45 pm - 2:00) during June 1- July 31. Must be flexible to any schedule changes and other requests made by the director and assistant director.
