Job Description

Position Overview This is not a typical coaching role. We are looking for a Lead Coach & Assistant Manager to take ownership of daily operations, lead our coaching team, and deliver an exceptional experience for every family that walks through our doors. This role is a blend of: Floor Leadership Team Development High-Level Planning and Coaching Operational Ownership You will be the person who ensures the gym runs at a high level—whether the owner is on-site or not. We are focused on building kids and developing future generations. Our energy and passion for helping kids build confidence is at the core of everything we do. You do not need prior ninja experience —we will train you. What matters is a proven coaching background, real leadership experience, and a genuine passion for working with kids.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Leadership & Operations Run day-to-day operations including opening and closing the facility Act as manager-on-duty and primary decision-maker on shift Lead and hold coaches accountable to performance and standards Manage scheduling, coverage, and shift execution Maintain a clean, organized, and professional facility at all times Coaching & Program Execution Develop high-quality weekly lesson plans aligned with the USA Ninja Challenge curriculum Deliver high-energy, structured classes for ages 2.5-17 Demonstrate and teach skills safely and effectively Ensure all classes follow program standards and progressions Monitor class quality and provide real-time coaching feedback to staff Team Development Train, mentor, and develop coaches at all experience levels Provide consistent, actionable feedback to improve coaching quality Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing instructor training Set the tone for energy, professionalism, and accountability Customer Experience & Growth Build strong relationships with parents and students Handle parent communication and resolve concerns professionally Drive trial-to-membership conversions on a monthly basis Support member retention through consistent, high-quality experiences Compensation & Benefits $23
  • 26/hour based on experience and fit.
Performance bonus tied to trial-to-membership conversions Achievement-based bonus for active membership growth milestones
Schedule:
Mixed weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Days off discussed with the right candidate Growth potential for candidates who demonstrate consistent leadership and ownership
Qualifications:
Required Minimum 3 years of hands-on coaching experience (sports, gymnastics, martial arts, or similar youth program) Minimum 1 year of lead or supervisory experience in a coaching or athletic environment Strong communication skills with both children and parents Ability to hold others accountable and have difficult conversations professionally Available for a consistent mix of weekday evenings and weekends Physically able to demonstrate skills and remain active on the gym floor Preferred Experience coaching in a structured youth program (gymnastics, martial arts, cheer, ninja, or obstacle sports) Background in lesson planning and curriculum delivery Experience driving enrollment or membership growth First Aid / CPR certified (or willingness to obtain) This Role Is NOT For You If...
