We aim to impact and revitalize communities through the development of education and other supportive partnerships.
Job Purpose:
Entrepreneur High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Girls Varsity Flag Football Head Coach to lead and develop its girls flag football program. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing student-athletes to achieve their highest potential both on and off the field. The Head Coach will create a positive and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and personal growth while focusing on flag football-specific skills, game strategy, player safety, and competitive success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and conduct regular team practices, conditioning sessions, games, and team activities. Develop and implement effective offensive and defensive strategies to enhance team performance and competitiveness. Teach and reinforce flag football-specific skills including passing, receiving, route running, defensive coverage, flag pulling, game awareness, and situational decision-making. Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support individual and team development. Select team rosters and make participation decisions consistent with program goals and school expectations. Supervise and direct assistant coaches to maintain consistency in instruction, expectations, and program culture. Develop and oversee off-season training opportunities, summer activities, and program development efforts. Monitor and maintain players' physical fitness levels through appropriate conditioning and skill development activities. Promote player safety by teaching proper techniques, monitoring practices and competitions, and following established safety protocols. Foster a positive team culture that promotes accountability, respect, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes with a focus on academic achievement, athletic growth, leadership, and personal development. Maintain communication with parents and guardians regarding team expectations, schedules, program updates, and student-athlete progress in collaboration with the Athletic Director. Coordinate and communicate with assistant coaches, athletic trainers, game officials, and school administration. Organize and oversee team activities, including travel arrangements, equipment management, uniform distribution, fundraising efforts, and team events. Maintain accurate records of team rosters, statistics, equipment inventories, eligibility requirements, and other program documentation. Monitor athlete academic eligibility and support student-athletes in maintaining compliance with school and CIF requirements. Attend league meetings, coaches meetings, and professional development opportunities as required. Support efforts to promote and grow the girls flag football program within the school and community. Adhere to all school policies and procedures, league regulations, and state athletic requirements. Ensure compliance with all CIF Southern Section (CIF SS) rules, regulations, and policies.
Minimum Requirements:
Previous coaching experience required; flag football coaching experience preferred. Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, strategies, player development, and conditioning. Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, and team-building skills. Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, staff, officials, and community members. Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all student-athletes. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Valid coaching certification or willingness to obtain all required certifications before the start of the season.
Physical demands:
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to physically demonstrate and participate in sport-specific drills and activities. Ability to stand, walk, run, and actively supervise practices and competitions for extended periods. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as necessary for practices, games, tournaments, and team events.
Compensation & Benefits:
The hourly pay for the Girls Varsity Flag Football Head Coach position is $22 per hour during the flag football season.
