Academy Coach
  • Youth Basketball HoopSphere Basketball Academy | Bay Area, CA Part-Time | Afternoon to Evening & Weekend Availability About HoopSphere HoopSphere is a premier youth basketball academy serving athletes ages 5-14 across multiple Bay Area facilities.
We are committed to structured skill development, professionalism, and delivering a consistently positive experience for every athlete and family. Our coaches operate within a clear curriculum and class structure. This is not a freelance or "coach-your-own-way" position. Position Overview Academy Coaches lead structured, high-energy basketball training sessions that emphasize fundamentals, confidence, and athlete development. Coaches are expected to uphold HoopSphere's professional standards while creating a supportive, engaging learning environment. This role is ideal for coaches who value structure, accountability, and long-term growth within a professional organization. Responsibilities Lead structured basketball skills classes for athletes ages 5-14 Teach fundamentals including ball handling, shooting, footwork, passing, and defense Maintain a positive, safe, and professional training environment Follow HoopSphere curriculum, class format, and coaching standards Communicate clearly and professionally with athletes, parents, and staff Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to coach all scheduled sessions Receive and implement feedback from Directors and Senior Coaches What We're Looking For Highly professional, respectful, and dependable Reliable, punctual, and accountable Coachable and receptive to feedback Strong communication skills with children, parents, and staff Positive presence and leadership demeanor Comfortable working in a structured, expectation-driven environment Basketball experience matters, but professionalism, character, and attitude are essential. Qualifications Basketball playing or coaching experience (youth, high school, college, or equivalent) Ability to effectively coach and communicate with children ages 5-14 Afternoon to evening and weekend availability Willingness to pick up shifts based on permanent schedule needs Compensation & Growth Competitive hourly pay based on experience and role level Clear coaching hierarchy and advancement opportunities Ongoing mentorship, feedback, and professional development Hiring Process Qualified candidates will complete: Application and Availability Screening On-Site Interview and Demo Session Only candidates aligned with HoopSphere's coaching standards and culture will move forward.
