NOW HIRING FOR AUGUST 2026
Position Summary Under the direct supervision of AVCUF Management and the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P), the Program Lead is responsible for facilitating high-quality academic, enrichment, recreation, leadership, and sports-based activities for students participating in after-school and expanded learning programs. Program Leads create safe, engaging, and culturally responsive learning environments that promote youth development, academic achievement, physical wellness, social-emotional growth, and positive behavior. Program Leads supervise groups of approximately 10-20 students and serve as positive role models while implementing structured activities aligned with AVCUF's mission and program objectives. This position requires individuals who are energetic, organized, dependable, and passionate about working with youth. Job Description Maintains active supervision of students at all times to ensure safety, engagement, and appropriate behavior. Provides academic support, homework assistance, tutoring, and educational enrichment activities. Plans, prepares, and facilitates daily academic, recreational, sports, leadership, and enrichment activities. Develops and implements culturally relevant lesson plans and activities that support student growth and development. Creates and maintains a safe, positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Implements Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), Healing-Centered Engagement (HCE), and other approved behavior management strategies. Provides mentorship, guidance, and positive role modeling to students. Organizes and supervises indoor and outdoor recreation, fitness, and sports activities. Promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, healthy lifestyles, and positive youth development. Ensures all equipment, materials, and activity spaces are maintained in a safe and organized condition. Conducts daily setup and cleanup of classrooms, activity spaces, and program materials. Maintains accurate attendance records, activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation. Communicates effectively with students, parents, school personnel, community partners, and AVCUF staff. Participates in staff meetings, trainings, professional development opportunities, and organizational events. Supports field trips, tournaments, special events, family engagement activities, and community programs. Monitors and reports injuries, behavioral concerns, safety hazards, and incidents to supervisors in a timely manner. Maintains confidentiality of student, family, and organizational information. Ensures compliance with AVCUF policies, school district requirements, and all safety procedures. Maintains accountability for assigned equipment, supplies, keys, and program materials. Reports suspected abuse, neglect, safety concerns, bullying, self-harm threats, or other incidents in accordance with AVCUF policies and applicable laws. Works under the direct supervision of the assigned Site Coordinator, Program Coordinator, or designated supervisor. Other duties as assigned
