This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead middle school girls in the fast-paced and empowering sport of flag football. As a coach, you will foster a positive environment that encourages physical activity, strategic thinking, and personal growth. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help shape confident, motivated students while promoting healthy lifestyles and team spirit. Will have 1 to 2 practices a week, practices must be in Los Alamitos area at 530pm to 7pm or 5 to 6:30pm. Games are from August 21, 2026 through mid November 2026. 10 to 12 games. Contract job. Responsibilities Plan and implement engaging practices that teach fundamental flag football skills, rules, and strategies. Lead team practices and games with energy, motivation, and clear instruction to ensure a fun and educational experience. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior among all participants through effective behavior management techniques. Monitor safety during practices and games, ensuring all participants follow safety protocols related to physical activity. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding team progress, schedules, and upcoming events. Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all students regardless of skill level or background. Incorporate related activities such as basic physical education exercises, conditioning drills, or martial arts techniques like Karate or Judo to enhance agility and coordination. Skills Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education with a focus on youth development. Knowledge of flag football rules, strategies, and safety procedures. Background in teaching or working with middle school students with strong behavior management skills. Experience in other sports a plus Ability to motivate students through energetic leadership while maintaining a positive environment. Familiarity with childcare principles and working with diverse groups of young learners. Certifications or experience related to Lifeguard work, swimming instruction, or health club/fitness environments are beneficial but not required. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about youth sports, physical education, and fostering confidence through athletic participation!
