Job Description
Company Description Flow State Performance Training is Mill Valley's high-end functional fitness and sports performance training center, helping adults and youth build strong, resilient bodies for life, sport, and long-term health. Role Description This is a part-time (potential to scale to full-time), on-site role for a Youth Performance Training Coach reporting to the Owner/Head Coach located in Mill Valley, CA. The Youth Performance Coach will be responsible for leading engaging, developmentally appropriate strength and conditioning sessions for elementary and middle school athletes to promote body awareness, coordination, confidence, and long-term athletic development. Additionally, the coach will collaborate with the Owner/Head Coach, monitor athletes' progress, and evolve training programs as necessary. Responsibilities Coach youth classes 2-5x per week (after school and/or weekends) Design and progress age-appropriate training programs Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment Communicate effectively with parents and athletes Support seasonal clinics, camps, or sports team partnerships Qualifications Nationally recognized personal training or strength & conditioning certification (e.g., NASM, NSCA, ACSM, ACE, CF-L1+) Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, or a related field is a plus 1-3+ years coaching experience (private or group) with youth athletes Strong movement assessment, cueing, and scaling ability Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-first mindset Able to pass background check for working with youth population
