Girls Volleyball Coach - Merryhill School What We Offer Pay range: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour Employee referral bonus Same-day pay with Dayforce Wallet, providing flexibility to access your earnings immediately Opportunity to work in a collaborative and nurturing educational environment About the Role As a Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach at Merryhill School, you will support student-athlete development through engaging, safe, and well-structured volleyball instruction. This role blends coaching, mentorship, team leadership, and character development to help students strengthen their athletic skills, build confidence, and take pride in representing their school. In this role, you will lead practices, prepare students for games, and foster a positive team culture rooted in effort, sportsmanship, accountability, and respect. You will help student-athletes develop foundational volleyball skills while encouraging teamwork, resilience, and a healthy approach to competition.
You will also:
Lead practices focused on volleyball fundamentals, including serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, movement, and court positioning Teach team strategy, game rules, rotations, communication, and situational awareness Prepare students for games through skill development, conditioning, drills, and team-building activities Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and personal growth Promote student safety by teaching proper techniques, monitoring participation, and reinforcing safe play expectations Organize practice schedules, game preparation, team logistics, equipment, and event coordination Travel with the team to games and events as needed Maintain professional and proactive communication with students, families, school leadership, and staff Model exceptional sportsmanship, reliability, leadership, and professionalism Support students in developing confidence, discipline, teamwork, and pride in representing Merryhill School What We're Looking For Prior experience coaching volleyball or participating in competitive volleyball preferred Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, practice planning, and age-appropriate skill development CPR and First Aid certification preferred High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred Experience working with middle school students or student-athletes preferred Strong communication, organization, and leadership capabilities Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate team environment Commitment to student safety, professionalism, sportsmanship, and positive character development Reliable availability for practices, games, and school athletic events as scheduled Ability to pass state and federal background checks To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
