Dance Team Head Coach

Head Coach - La Jolla Country Day Dance Team La Jolla Country Day School is seeking a passionate, driven, and inspiring Head Coach for the La Jolla Country Day Dance Team. We are looking for someone who is excited to lead and grow a strong student-athlete program while creating a positive, disciplined, and empowering team culture. The ideal candidate is experienced in dance, choreography, and leadership, and is passionate about mentoring high school athletes both on and off the floor. Responsibilities Lead and oversee all aspects of the dance team program Plan and run practices, game day performances, pep rallies, and team events Choreograph and clean routines for football, basketball, showcases, and competitions Develop dancers' technical skills, performance quality, and teamwork Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team environment Coordinate auditions, team placements, and offseason training Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, school administration, and athletic staff Manage schedules, music, uniforms, and team logistics Represent the program with professionalism, leadership, and school spirit Qualifications Strong background in dance, choreography, and performance Previous coaching and leadership experience preferred Experience working with high school athletes is a plus Knowledge of jazz, pom, hip hop, and performance dance styles Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills Ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire student-athletes Availability for after-school practices, games, performances, and select weekend events About the Program La Jolla Country Day Dance is a growing program centered around teamwork, strong technique, school spirit, and creating an environment where dancers feel challenged, supported, and confident.
