The Lycée Français de San Francisco (Lycée) is a French Immersion and French acquisition school, college Preparatory School in the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide a challenging educational environment based on the French national curriculum, enriched by English classes from PS-12th grade. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a well-structured, well-assimilated body of general knowledge, while encouraging the development of analytical and critical thinking skills. Our students earn an American high school diploma and prepare for the French Baccalauréat, which qualifies them for both American and European universities.POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Girls Volleyball Coach to lead our High School Girls volleyball program for the Fall 2026 season. The ideal candidate has experience coaching volleyball at the high school, club, or college level and is passionate about player development, team culture, and competitive growth. The ability to lead volleyball clinics during school breaks is a strong plus.SEASON & COMMITMENT
Fall 2026 (HS Girls) Season window: Late August - November 2026 Approximately 3 hours of practice per week + 1-2 matches per week Season length: approximately 11 weeks Pre-season and post-season league coaches meetings (as scheduled) One weekend tournament (TBD)PRACTICE SCHEDULE
High School (HS)Mondays:
4:30-6:00PM Fridays/Wednesdays:
4:30-6:00 PM Match days: typically 1-2 per week, with start times around 4:00 PMCOMPENSATION
Flat season stipend: $3,500 (paid in installments over the season) Stipend covers all practices, regular-season matches, and league coaches meetings Playoffs / postseason matches included in the stipend Approximate weekly load: 3 hours of practice + 1-2 matches (matches start around 4:00 PM)RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and lead engaging, well-structured practices with clear technical and tactical objectives Develop fundamental and advanced volleyball skills appropriate to the HS level (passing, setting, attacking, blocking, serving, defensive systems) Build a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture Prepare the team for league matches, tournaments, and postseason play Support player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and commitment Collaborate with the Athletics Department on scheduling, rosters, and program growth Communicate clearly with players and families about expectations, schedules, and progress Ensure student safety and adherence to school policies Support volleyball clinics during school breaks (when applicable)REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience coaching volleyball at the High School and/or competitive club level required Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, drills, systems, and game strategy Familiarity with HS league competition in San Francisco or similar urban leagues Ability to design structured practice plans aligned with clear performance objectives Strong communication and leadership skills with students and families Reliable, punctual, and professional Ability to manage groups of student-athletes in a school setting CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Background check clearance required Prior competitive playing experience (college, club, or equivalent) preferred Coaching certification(s) or formal training preferred French is a plusTO APPLY
