This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about developing student-athletes, building a positive team culture, and creating a program that will inspire participation, excellence, and school pride for years to come. As the founding coach of our Girls Flag Football program, you will play a critical role in establishing the team's identity, recruiting and developing athletes, building community support, and creating an athletic experience that aligns with our school's mission and values. Key Responsibilities Program Development & Leadership Establish and lead the school's inaugural Girls Flag Football program. Develop a clear vision, culture, and identity for the program. Recruit and retain student-athletes while promoting participation and inclusivity. Build excitement and awareness for Girls Flag Football within the school and broader community. Collaborate with athletic department leadership to develop long-term program goals and growth strategies. Coaching & Athlete Development Plan and conduct practices focused on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence. Prepare athletes for league and postseason competition. Foster leadership, confidence, resilience, and character among student-athletes. Ensure a safe, positive, and supportive environment for all participants. Monitor academic progress and encourage student success both on and off the field. Community & Family Engagement Build strong relationships with athletes, families, and school stakeholders. Partner with parent volunteers and booster organizations to support program growth. Help develop community engagement opportunities, fundraising initiatives, and program visibility. Represent the school and program with professionalism and integrity at all times. Administrative Responsibilities Coordinate team communications, schedules, and program logistics. Maintain compliance with league, school, and athletic department policies. Assist with equipment management, uniforms, and game-day operations. Participate in athletic department meetings and required trainings. Qualifications Previous coaching experience in flag football, football, or a related sport preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and motivate high school athletes. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administrators. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must meet all school, league, and state coaching requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience building or growing an athletic program. Experience working with female athletes. Knowledge of current girls flag football rules, strategy, and player development. Experience with community outreach, fundraising, or program promotion.
