(Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships) ? Assist with supervision of all phases of the football program- planning, strategy, instruction in fundamentals, and so forth.

grade boys' football program. ? Understand, monitor, and enforce district academic standards, policies, and eligibility requirements. ? Develop players to their fullest potential, starting with the basic fundamentals of the game of football and progressing to skills beyond what is considered average. ? Understand and promote good sportsmanship among student-athletes. ? Complete required reports and record accurately and in a timely manner. ? Has a thorough knowledge of and responsible for the athletic policy approved by the Board of Education. ? Supervise players at all practices and games, as well as in the locker room and on the bus. ? Must possess an enthusiastic attitude and ability to understand intermediate-aged youth in an athletic setting. ? Work in cooperation with the building Activity Director and with the Director of Athletics for the Davenport Community Schools. ? Must be willing to support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics. ? Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential. ? Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully. Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement Experience with competition/success at the state level is desired.
