Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Independent Living Skills Instructor to empower individuals with developmental disabilities, to achieve greater independence and quality of life. In this role, you will provide personalized support, teaching essential life skills, fostering social engagement, and promoting community integration. Your energetic approach and compassionate attitude will inspire confidence and growth in those you serve, helping them navigate daily challenges and reach their full potential. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized plans to teach essential life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and personal hygiene. Support clients in building social skills and community engagement through structured activities and outings. Collect and document progress data to monitor skill development and adjust support strategies accordingly. Use effective behavioral health techniques and behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors. Drive clients safely to appointments, activities, or community events while maintaining proper documentation of transportation. Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles, behavior management techniques, and behavioral health practices. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with diverse populations. Experience in caregiving or home & community care settings is advantageous. Ability to assist with ADLs and provide direct support in a respectful and encouraging manner. Valid driver's license and clean driving record for transportation responsibilities. Familiarity with data collection methods related to progress tracking and reporting. Must Pass a drug and background screening.

$18.50 - $20.00 per hour
