Summary of Position The Allied Health & Wellness department at RRCC is seeking a part-time Clinical Skills Instructor / Allied Health Program Assistant to support instructional, laboratory, organizational, accreditation, and student success activities within Allied Health programs including Medical Assisting, Medical Office Administration, Phlebotomy, and related healthcare pathways. This position is designed to support faculty, students, and program operations through classroom assistance, laboratory preparation, student oversight, competency tracking, accreditation documentation support, inventory coordination, instructional organization, and general program support activities. This role may assist with instructional demonstrations, student mentoring, skills practice sessions, simulation activities, and classroom management under the direction of faculty and program leadership. The Clinical Skills Instructor (CSI) is a part-time instructional support position hired on a temporary, as-needed basis to support Allied Health & Wellness programs. Individuals with satisfactory performance may be offered successive appointments at the discretion of department leadership. Appointment status for future semesters or courses will be communicated in advance whenever possible. Appointments may be modified or canceled due to programmatic need, failure to meet position expectations, scheduling limitations, or unsatisfactory performance. This position is intended to provide instructional, organizational, operational, and student-support assistance to faculty and program leadership across Allied Health pathways. The role functions similarly to a clinical educational support assistant or instructional program assistant while remaining aligned within the Clinical Skills Instructor classification structure. The Clinical Skills Instructor / Program Assistant will collaborate closely with instructors and the Department Chair to help maintain organized instructional environments that support accreditation compliance, student learning outcomes, Colorado CTE expectations, concurrent enrollment partnerships, and workforce readiness initiatives. According to college policy, Clinical Skills Instructors may not simultaneously serve in conflicting instructional appointment categories during the same semester. Work hours must remain within established college and departmental hourly limits. Participation in meetings, trainings, special events, simulations, advisory activities, and other assigned duties may be compensated at the approved hourly rate in accordance with departmental procedures. This position reports to the Department Chair of Allied Health & Wellness. Work schedules may vary based on departmental need and may include daytime, evening, weekend, hybrid, laboratory, clinical, and occasional off-site support activities. This position may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need. Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in educational and healthcare settings. Strong communication, interpersonal, mentoring, and teamwork skills. Ability to organize instructional materials, supplies, records, and accreditation-related documentation. Ability to adapt to changing departmental needs and support multiple instructors or programs simultaneously. Basic proficiency with instructional technology, learning management systems, spreadsheets, and electronic documentation systems. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and support inclusive learning environments. Ability to monitor student performance and provide constructive feedback in classroom and laboratory settings. Ability to maintain organized, safe, and effective learning environments. Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail. Ability to assist in educational, laboratory, or student-support environments. Flexibility to support additional instructional or operational duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate Degree, certificate, coursework completion, or equivalent professional experience in healthcare, education, administration, workforce training, student services, or related fields. One (1) year of experience in educational support, healthcare support, workforce training, classroom assistance, customer service, administrative support, or student-focused environments. Ability to support instructional activities, student oversight, organizational tasks, and program operations within Allied Health programs. Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced educational environments with multiple instructors, students, and priorities. Ability to obtain required college onboarding and compliance training. Preferred Qualifications Experience assisting in classroom, laboratory, training, tutoring, coaching, or educational support settings. Experience with Allied Health, workforce development, Career & Technical Education (CTE), or concurrent enrollment environments. Experience organizing documentation, competency tracking, spreadsheets, scheduling systems, or accreditation-related records. Experience supporting student success initiatives, mentoring, or skills coaching. Familiarity with healthcare educational environments, simulation activities, or instructional support processes. BLS/CPR certification through American Heart Association preferred but not required. Experience working with diverse student populations and inclusive learning environments. Physical & Cognitive Demands The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position. Frequently moves, organizes, positions, and transports classroom, laboratory, and office materials weighing up to 30 lbs. Frequently assists with classroom setup, laboratory preparation, equipment organization, and student support activities. Routinely uses computers and standard office/classroom equipment including phones, copiers, printers, and instructional technology. The person in this position constantly communicates with students, faculty, staff, and community partners and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Cognitive demands include organizing, coordinating, analyzing, documenting, communicating, instructing, mentoring, multitasking, and problem-solving within fast-paced educational environments. Advertised Pay The pay range for lectures is $1.177.73 - $1294.58. The pay for lecture/lab the pay range is $1,660.54 - $1,826.60, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA exempt position and may work up to 28 hours per week, depending on budget and need. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
