The Head Coach plays a vital role in creating a positive team culture that emphasizes academic integrity, social responsibility, mutual respect, and a commitment to competitive excellence. This leader is responsible for instructing and preparing student-athletes for competition while also guiding their personal growth beyond the field. Reporting to the Athletic Director, the Head Coach oversees all aspects of the Girls Tennis program, with a focus on developing well-rounded individuals both on and off the field.Responsibilities:
Organizing, developing and providing appropriate supervision of the overall program. This includes but is not limited to practices, games, team travel and locker room management. Executing procedures for proper skill development for all participants, including a process to thoroughly evaluate individual participants in the program, resulting in proper placement of each individual at the appropriate level for participation Developing and administering a process for open, ongoing communication for administration, athletes, and parents. Developing partnerships with administration, coaches, community, and athletic department for the greater good of the school. Work collaboratively with the athletic director and asst. coaches to develop and implement the expectations for the specific athletic program. Responsible for understanding, adhering, and enforcing, all district Code of Conduct Policies, CHSAA By-Laws, and the sport(s) specific CHSAA Bulletin. Complete all District and CHSAA training requirements. Basic knowledge and understanding of the signs and symptoms of major injuries. Ability to administer approved first-aid procedures as necessary, including concussion protocols and administering CPR/AED. Additionally, collaboration with the building trainer for all return to play protocols and limitations. Assist in monitoring athlete attendance/behavior/academic status. Assist in maintaining accurate and updated records of all equipment and uniforms. Timely completion of assigned administrative duties. Support fundraising for the program's needs. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent Previous experience as a Head or Assistant coach. Must be 21 years of age, or older Complete and submitted BVSD online application Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English Must complete CPR/First Aid/AED, annual concussion training, mental health, CHSAA test and activity specific rules prior to working with student-athletes.Preferred:
Discernible knowledge of the specific sport. Previous head coaching experience in the specific sport. Knowledge of all aspects of senior high school athletic/activity programming.Salary Information:
Salary Placement varies according to experience and education. •Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule ) . BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process. This information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience and education.
