This position requires availability generally Mondays thru Fridays in the late afternoons and evenings during the sports season Winter Season (Late October-December) Practice/game days held during the school week Weekly hours will be approximately 10-12 hoursDesired Start Date:
October 19, 2026Stipend Wage Range:
$1,000.00 or higher based on coaching experience There will be a one-time payout upon the completion of your seasonPosition Summary:
As head coach, you will assume the role of leader of student-athletes and all associated staff. The Head Coach is expected to serve as the public face of the program, creating and maintaining a positive public image as a representative of Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver. This position collaborates directly with and reports to the Athletic Director. Key Responsibilities . As the leader of the basketball program that your leadership will effectively guide all athletes and assistant coaches in a visionary manner that promotes development, growth and competitiveness of athletic competition The head coach is responsible for establishing the planning and implementation of all practices, training sessions, game strategies and preparation, and coaching of all student-athletes Coaches are expected to thoroughly understand and to apply all of the rules, principles, and competitive strategies of the sport they coach Demonstrate proficient knowledge in the physical and mental training of competitive athletes along with the integration of sport strategies that elevate the performance of all team members Have the essential knowledge and capabilities to create and implement a safe, coherent and effective training program concentrated on the physical development for all athletes Create a visionary process focusing on the building and sustainment of the long term success of the program Possess the ability to effectively communicate well both verbally and in writing with all activities staff, parents, students, news media, other staff members, and visitors to the school Oversee the safety of all team personnel through proper planning and management of organizational policies Assist with the development of the program as necessary Coaches are expected to be present at all in-season and out-of-season practices and at all games Be available to attend all CHSAA and league meetings as requested Assist with set up and take down of equipment for practices and games Complete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire date Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace Perform other duties as assignedPosition Requirements:
Prefer a college degree but requires at least a high school diploma or GED Previous high school or middle school coaching experience preferred Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals Commitment to fostering a positive and all-encompassing team environment Complete all required coaching training prior to the start of each sport season Loyalty to the mission and vision of the school and ACACS Commitment to model moral character in line with the school's core virtues Adherence to all ACACS policies, including but not limited to the Athletic Handbook, Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policies Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to traverse the sports complex, field, or courtSimilar remote jobs
