Job Description

James Irwin Charter Schools is seeking experienced and motivated Middle School and High School Track Coaches to join our athletic program for the upcoming school year. We are currently hiring for coaching positions and are looking for individuals who are passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the track. Our track and field program emphasizes character development, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, perseverance, and competitive excellence. Coaches play an important role in mentoring students while helping build a strong and positive team culture.
Season Details Official track season:
February - May Preseason and offseason conditioning opportunities available Practices are typically held after school with meets and competitions throughout the season Responsibilities Assist with planning and leading effective track and field practices Teach event-specific fundamentals, conditioning, technique, and competition strategy Support athlete development in areas such as sprints, distance, relays, jumps, throws, and hurdles as assigned Promote sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and positive team culture Supervise athletes during practices, meets, travel, and team events Collaborate with school administration and athletic leadership Help support offseason conditioning and athlete development opportunities Maintain a safe and organized practice environment Qualifications Prior track and field coaching experience preferred Track and field background as a participant and/or coach preferred Ability to motivate, mentor, and positively influence student-athletes Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Must pass required background checks and school clearances Compensation Stipend range: $1,500 - $4,000 Based on experience, responsibilities, and program needs Why Coach at James Irwin Charter Schools?
