Job Description

Department Head Women's Basketball Coach Summary:
Reports to the Head Women's Basketball Coach and the Director of Athletics. This position assists the Head Coach in all aspects of the women's basketball program, including coaching, recruiting, scheduling, camps and clinics, practice and game management, and fundraising. The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach is responsible for adhering to RMAC rules and NCAA Division II bylaws. The position will represent MSU Denver positively and uphold the program's philosophy and the department's core values.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Coaching (40%)
  • Assist the Head Coach with team coaching and player development Recruiting (20%)
  • Support all recruiting efforts Scheduling (10%)
  • Assist with team scheduling logistics Practice & Game Management (10%)
  • Coordinate and support practice and competition operations Student-Athlete Supervision (20%)
  • Oversee and support student-athlete development and conduct
Specific Responsibilities:
Recruiting Coordinator:
Lead all aspects of recruiting, including developing and executing recruiting strategies Manage recruiting documentation, including official/unofficial visits, NCAA Eligibility Center requirements, and maintenance of the recruiting database
Academic Coordinator:
Oversee academic progress, including grade checks, class attendance, study hall coordination, and tutor monitoring Serve as liaison with Admissions, The Regency, and the NCAA Eligibility Center to support freshman and transfer student-athlete onboarding
Fall League Director:
Oversee planning and execution of the
Women's Basketball Fall League Position Coach:
Provide position-specific training (posts, forwards, or guards), including individual and film sessions
Scouting:
Scout approximately half of regular season opponents and prepare game film and materials for staff and players
Practice Player Coordinator:
Recruit, organize, and coach the practice player scout team Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. One year of experience coaching at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree, Knowledge of Division II rules Schedule Information Full-time, 40 hours per week Exempt from overtime

yes Salary for Announcement Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The anticipated hiring range is $42,000
  • $56,000.
This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
