Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include teaching swim lessons to participants of all ages, monitoring swimmer safety during instruction, assisting with aquatic programs, and supporting daily operations at the Town Park Pool.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications): Must possess current Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications. Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification or previous swim instruction experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and skill in providing excellent customer service, working with children, and creating a safe and positive learning environment.
Environmental Factors:
Work is performed primarily in and around the Town's properties and facilities. Work performed outdoors and is subject to adverse weather conditions including high UV rays. This position may include evening, weekends and holiday work.
Physical Factors:
Includes standing or walking a majority of the time, with swimming, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching; working on irregular surfaces; ability to sustain heavy physical exertion; ability to perform in adverse weather conditions; ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
Schedule and Compensation:
Seasonal position available May-August (start and end dates may vary), working approximately 20-40 hours per week, including weekends. Compensation is hourly, with a $1.00 per hour end-of-season bonus if the full season is completed successfully. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
