Youth Director, Youth Assistant Director Job Summary:
Prime Volleyball Academy is seeking a motivated and passionate Youth Volleyball Coach to lead and develop our youth volleyball programs, including open gyms, skills clinics, developmental leagues, and private lessons. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, a commitment to player development, and the ability to engage young athletes in a fun, supportive, and educational environment. This is a great opportunity for coaches who are looking to inspire the next generation of volleyball players and help them develop their skills from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Open Gyms :
Organize and facilitate open gym sessions, providing a safe and engaging environment for athletes of various skill levels to practice and improve.
Skills Clinics :
Plan and execute skill-focused clinics that cover all aspects of the game (e.g., serving, passing, setting, hitting, and defense), ensuring players are challenged and encouraged to grow.
Developmental Leagues :
Oversee and coach youth developmental leagues, creating a positive experience that focuses on teaching fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Private Lessons :
Provide one-on-one or small group training sessions tailored to the needs of individual athletes, helping them improve specific skills.
Player Development :
Work with athletes to develop their volleyball skills and understanding of the game through structured drills, exercises, and coaching techniques.
Program Planning :
Assist in creating and implementing age-appropriate programs and curriculum to maximize player development and enjoyment.
Team Building & Morale :
Foster a positive, inclusive environment where young athletes feel motivated, confident, and supported.
Communication :
Maintain communication with parents, athletes, and other coaching staff regarding program schedules, progress, and any important updates or feedback.
Safety & Supervision :
Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during sessions, adhering to safety protocols and club guidelines.
Qualifications:
Playing Experience :
Previous competitive playing experience in volleyball (high school, collegiate, or club level). Knowledge of the
Game :
Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals and coaching techniques, with the ability to break down complex skills for younger athletes.
Communication Skills :
Ability to effectively communicate with young athletes, parents, and coaching staff in a positive and encouraging manner.
Patience & Enthusiasm :
Passion for teaching and mentoring youth athletes, with the patience to work with players at different skill levels and ages.
Team-Oriented :
Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches and staff to ensure program success and positive experiences for athletes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coaching Experience :
Previous experience coaching youth volleyball programs, camps, or clinics is preferred, but not required. Experience working with young athletes is a plus.
Coaching Certification :
USAV CAP
(Coaching Accreditation Program) or other relevant certifications is a plus.
Compensation:
$15 - $25 per hour depending on the program. Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Opportunity to coach multiple age groups and gain experience across different program types. Potential for growth within the organization as programs expand.
