Colorado Sick Leave Job Summary:
The Swim Instructor is responsible for instructing participants of all ages and skill levels to improve their swimming ability and water skills in a constructive, safe and enjoyable environment. Examples of duties include organizing lesson plans, teaching in-water swimming skills, maintaining written progression reports and producing final report cards to discuss with parents of participants as required.
Qualifications/Education Requirements:
1. Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred or ability to obtain within six months of hire. (Starfish preferred but will accept YMCA and Ellis and Associates). 2. Lifeguard training preferred. 3. Must have thorough knowledge of teaching proper swim skills/strokes 4. Ability to communicate effectively with public and co-workers. 5. Knowledge and enforcement of pool rules and facility rules is a must. 6. CPR/First Aid required 7. Ability to work as a team member.
