Do you have sports, dance, or cheer experience and want to share your skills in a fun, supportive summer camp environment? The Darien YMCA Summer Camp is looking for a Gymnastics Instructor to inspire and guide young campers while promoting safety, skill development, and confidence. June 22, 2026 - August 21, 2026 | 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM As a Gymnastics Instructor, you'll lead campers in proper gymnastics techniques, help them build strength and coordination, and ensure every participant has a safe and positive experience. Your friendly, welcoming, and encouraging attitude will help campers thrive while supporting the Y's mission of creating a nurturing, inclusive, and fun environment. What You'll Do

• Teach gymnastics skills, techniques, and proper form to campers
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment at all times
• Keep accurate attendance and track camper progress
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and staff
• Collaborate with the Gymnastics Director and other instructors for smooth class management
• Enforce safety rules, policies, and proper use of gymnastics equipment
• Qualifications
• 1-3 years of gymnastics coaching experience or competitive gymnastics experience with a desire to coach
• Experience in related sports (dance, cheer, tumbling) is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Able to monitor the environment and respond quickly for camper safety
• Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Active, hands-on role: standing, sitting, or moving for 1-4 hours at a time
• Frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, balancing, crouching, pulling, grasping, stooping, crawling, lifting, and talking
• Moderate noise levels from gym activity
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
