Mens Lacrosse Description Position Title:
Graduate Assistant Coach, Men's Lacrosse Reporting To:
Head Men's Lacrosse Coach and Athletic Director Hours per week: 20/25 hours a week
Stipend/Benefits:
Tuition waived up to 24 credits & a $1000 stipend for the academic year Role Summary The Graduate Assistant will assist the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach in all facets of the Men's Lacrosse Program and support the Athletic Department. This role is designed to provide the student with professional experience in a higher education setting while supporting the department's operational goals. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can balance their academic workload with coaching on the side. Housing, Work Hours & Duties Athletics GA positions may include the option for on-campus housing as part of the tuition compensation package. GAs who chooses to live on campus are required to work up to 25 hours per week, reflecting additional responsibilities related to both Athletics and Residence Life. GAs who does not choose the housing option are required to work up to 20 hours per week, focusing primarily on Athletics-related responsibilities . Qualifications Primary Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach of the Men's lacrosse Team Fully commit to the mission, standards, and culture of Albertus Help with teaching, recruiting, giving tours, academic meetings with SAs, film sessions, running practices, lifts, and day-to-day tasks Developing young student-athletes by teaching and reinforcing our system with consistency and clarity Follow all NCAA and Athletics Department guidelines. Foster a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, and assist with the promotion of an environment of institutional control over intercollegiate athletics at Albertus Magnus College.
Eligibility & Requirements Enrollment:
Must be currently accepted in a Master program at Albertus Magnus College in one of the following areas: Accounting (only two spots available) Business Administration Criminal Justice Management and Organizational Leadership Healthcare Administration (only two spots available)
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in [Microsoft Office/Google Workspace]. Experience playing at the collegiate level. Knowledge of the game. Rules, plays, terminology, etc. Good teaching, preparation, and time management skills. Be flexible with working hours. Learning Outcomes (The "Value Add") Gain hands-on experience in coaching at the collegiate level Build genuine, long-lasting relationships. Develop mentorship skills, leadership skills, preparation skills, and personable skills from coaching a group of college students. Becoming a player's coach. Learn all the behind-the-scenes that you never saw as a player.
