  • Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Xcel Team Coach to join our competitive gymnastics program.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in the USA Gymnastics Xcel program and is passionate about athlete development, proper technique, and creating a positive, disciplined team culture. Key Responsibilities Plan and lead structured practices for Xcel athletes (Bronze through Diamond) Teach and refine skills on all four events: vault, bars, beam, and floor Break down progressions safely and effectively for skill development Provide corrections focused on form, body shaping, and consistency Prepare athletes for competitions, including routines, mental readiness, and meet expectations Spot athletes safely and confidently on appropriate skills Track athlete progress and communicate with head coach/management Foster a positive, team-oriented environment while maintaining discipline and focus Ensure safety standards are consistently followed Qualifications Prior coaching experience with the USA Gymnastics Xcel program (required) Strong knowledge of skill progressions and routine requirements for Xcel levels Ability to spot skills across multiple levels (from basics through advanced Xcel skills) Understanding of shaping, conditioning, and flexibility training Positive, energetic, and professional attitude Strong communication skills with athletes, parents, and staff Current (or willingness to obtain): USA Gymnastics Professional Membership SafeSport Certification Background Check Preferred Qualities Experience coaching multiple Xcel levels Ability to manage groups with varying skill levels Strong eye for detail and technique correction Reliable, organized, and team-oriented Passion for building athlete confidence and long-term development Schedule & Commitment Practices held Mondays, Thursday, and Saturdys Availability for competitions (weekends required) Consistent weekly commitment expected What We Offer Supportive coaching environment Opportunity to grow within the program Competitive pay based on experience Positive team culture focused on athlete success and development
