Job Description

Family Christian Center School (FCCS) Title Head Volleyball Coach Employment Type Seasonal Stipend Position Reports To Athletic Director Position Summary The Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the FCCS volleyball program in a manner that reflects the school's Christian mission and values. The coach will provide spiritual leadership, skill development, team organization, and mentorship while fostering a positive, competitive, and Christ-centered environment for student-athletes. This is a stipend-based position and is not considered a full-time or part-time salaried employment position. Compensation is provided as a seasonal stipend for services rendered during the volleyball season and approved off-season activities. Primary ResponsibilitiesSpiritual Leadership Model Christian character and sportsmanship at all times. Lead student-athletes in prayer, devotionals, and faith-based mentorship. Support the mission and values of Family Christian Center School. Encourage athletes to grow spiritually, academically, and athletically. Program Development Plan and conduct practices that promote skill development and team growth. Develop game strategies and prepare athletes for competition. Create a positive team culture emphasizing accountability, discipline, and teamwork. Assist with player evaluations and team selection during tryouts. Promote year-round development opportunities for athletes. Administrative Duties Maintain regular communication with players, parents, and the Athletic Director. Submit rosters, equipment needs, and budget requests by established deadlines. Ensure all athletes meet eligibility requirements and complete required paperwork. Attend coaches' meetings and professional development opportunities as requested. Maintain accurate records of attendance, injuries, and team activities. Game Day Responsibilities Supervise athletes during practices, games, travel, and team events. Ensure proper sportsmanship from players, coaches, and spectators. Coordinate game preparation and post-game responsibilities. Represent FCCS professionally at all contests and events. Program Growth and Promotion Assist with recruiting and retaining student-athletes within FCCS. Participate in athletic department events, parent meetings, camps, clinics, and fundraising efforts. Help promote the volleyball program through school and athletic department initiatives. Support sponsorship and community engagement efforts when requested. Qualifications Demonstrates a personal Christian testimony and lifestyle consistent with the mission of FCCS. Previous volleyball coaching experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to mentor and develop student-athletes. Ability to work collaboratively with school administration, parents, and other coaches. CPR, First Aid, and any required certifications preferred or willingness to obtain. Expectations Maintain a positive and professional attitude. Serve as a role model in conduct, appearance, and communication. Comply with all FCCS policies, athletic department procedures, and league regulations. Prioritize student-athlete safety and well-being. Support the overall vision and goals of the FCCS Athletic Department. Time Commitment The Head Volleyball Coach is expected to: Attend all scheduled practices and competitions. Participate in preseason, in-season, and approved offseason activities. Attend required athletic department meetings and parent meetings. Assist with camps, clinics, and program development opportunities as requested by the Athletic Director. Compensation This position is compensated through a seasonal stipend. The stipend amount will be determined annually by FCCS administration and the Athletic Department. Stipend compensation is intended to cover coaching responsibilities associated with the volleyball season and approved program-related activities.
