Family Christian Center School (FCCS), Clermont, Florida Build FCCS Tennis From the Ground Up Family Christian Center School (FCCS) is seeking a passionate, faith-driven, and knowledgeable Head Tennis Coach to launch and lead our brand-new Junior Varsity and Varsity Tennis Program. This is a unique opportunity for a coach who desires more than simply coaching matches. We are looking for a visionary leader who is excited about building a tennis program from the ground up, establishing its culture, developing student-athletes, and creating a long-term foundation for success. As the founding Head Tennis Coach, you will play a significant role in shaping the identity, traditions, expectations, and future growth of FCCS Tennis. This is a stipend position. Compensation will be based on coaching experience, qualifications, certifications, and overall contribution to the program. Position Summary The Head Tennis Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the JV and Varsity Tennis programs, including athlete development, program administration, team culture, match preparation, and long-term growth. The successful candidate will work closely with the Athletic Director to establish a competitive, Christ-centered tennis program that reflects the mission and values of FCCS Athletics. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Program Development & Leadership Launch and build the inaugural FCCS Tennis Program. Develop a long-term vision and strategic plan for program growth. Establish team standards, expectations, and culture. Create a Christ-centered environment that promotes character, leadership, accountability, and sportsmanship. Recruit and retain student-athletes within the FCCS student body. Assist in developing future opportunities for program expansion and growth. Coaching Responsibilities Plan and conduct practices, workouts, and skill development sessions. Teach tennis fundamentals including serving, groundstrokes, volleys, footwork, match strategy, and sportsmanship. Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback. Develop individualized improvement plans for student-athletes. Prepare athletes for matches, tournaments, and postseason competition. Coordinate lineups and competitive strategies. Student-Athlete Development Mentor student-athletes academically, athletically, and spiritually. Promote leadership, integrity, discipline, and responsibility. Encourage academic achievement and personal growth. Foster respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the game. Program Growth & Community Engagement Assist with promoting the new tennis program throughout the community. Build relationships with local tennis clubs, instructors, and organizations. Support fundraising and sponsorship initiatives when needed. Help develop camps, clinics, and offseason opportunities to grow participation. Administrative Responsibilities Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, administration, and the Athletic Director. Maintain team rosters, attendance records, and eligibility requirements. Assist with scheduling, transportation, uniforms, and equipment management. Attend athletic department meetings and school events as required. Ensure compliance with all athletic department and league policies. Safety & Supervision Ensure proper supervision of student-athletes at all practices, matches, and team events. Promote safe training and competition environments. Follow all FCCS emergency and safety procedures. Prioritize student-athlete well-being at all times. Preferred Qualifications Previous tennis coaching experience at the youth, high school, collegiate, or club level preferred. Competitive tennis playing experience preferred. Experience building or growing an athletic program is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of tennis rules, techniques, and match strategy. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes. CPR and First Aid Certification preferred. Commitment to Christian education and the mission of Family Christian Center School.
