Job Description

Position Title:
Full-Time Assistant Coach Position Summary:
Under the daily supervision of the head coach, the assistant coach is also responsible for the recruitment, retention and academic success of student athletes. The Assistant Coach is expected to affirm, model, and cultivate the Christ-centered mission of Warner University and the Athletic Department. In addition to coaching, this position assists with control and oversight of budgets and scheduling of athletic games. The assistant coach will be responsible to maintain compliance with and must have knowledge of The NAIA, The NCCAA, The Sun Conference, and college rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Conduct programs in accordance with the NAIA guidelines, and within the Christ-centered mission of Warner University. Provide a positive atmosphere that promotes a sense of community and fairness, organization, commitment, motivation, and accomplishment. Stay current concerning rule changes, training techniques, and game strategies in their respective sports. Encourage and uphold the NAIA Champions of Character Core Values and enforce appropriate behavior during all team practices, contests, and any other team related activities. Develop and implement strategies for recruiting exceptional student athletes to attend Warner University. Keep accurate records of student athlete participation and general team data. Maintain van certification through Warner University; communicate maintenance issues and maintain cleanliness of vans. Help implement the spiritual formation plan designed by the Head Coach to the student-athletes.
Working Relationships:
The Full-Time Assistant Coach is supervised by the Head Coach, and reports to the Athletic Director.
