Baseball Teaching Full Job Description Position Summary:
Assistant Varsity Coach (Pitching Coach)- is responsible for the development and management of the pitching staff while also supporting daily on-field operations of the baseball program. This role requires both instructional expertise and the ability to actively participate in practices, including throwing batting practice and executing field work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Pitching Development Develop and implement structured throwing and pitching programs Teach proper mechanics, command, and pitch development Create individualized plans for pitcher growth and performance Oversee bullpen sessions and in-game pitching strategy Arm Care & Player Health Implement arm care routines and workload management Monitor pitch counts and recovery protocols Communicate with athletic trainers regarding player health Game Preparation & Management Assist in developing pitching rotations and game plans Manage pitchers during games, including bullpen readiness and in-game adjustments Evaluate pitcher performance and provide feedback Practice & On-Field Responsibilities Actively participate in daily practices, including: Throwing batting practice (BP) Hitting fungo for defensive drills Assisting with drill setup and execution Help run efficient, high-tempo practices Work with position players and catchers as needed Player Development & Mentorship Build strong relationships with student-athletes Promote accountability, discipline, and team culture Support academic and personal development
Qualifications:
Previous baseball playing or coaching experience (pitching background preferred) Ability to throw consistent batting practice and hit fungo effectively Strong knowledge of pitching mechanics and arm care Must be able to pass background/finger printing Must meet all district and school coaching requirements Please submit your resume & brief message on why you would be a good fit. •Stipend of $2,000-$2,500 is paid through PCSB•
