Position Overview:
Seacrest is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Athletic Trainer/Athletic Coordinator to join our athletic department. This dual role involves providing comprehensive athletic training services to our student-athletes and coordinating various aspects of the athletic program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports medicine, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to promoting the health, safety, and success of our athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
Athletic Training:
Provide preventative care, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for all athletic injuries and conditions. Develop and implement injury prevention programs and educational initiatives for student-athletes. Conduct pre-participation physical exams and coordinate medical referrals and follow-ups. Manage and maintain athletic training equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and in good condition. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all student-athletes. Develop and oversee emergency action plans for all athletic events and practices. Communicate effectively with coaches, parents, and healthcare professionals regarding the status and care of injured athletes. Attend all home athletic events and practices, providing on-site medical coverage.
Athletic Coordination:
Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling games, practices, and transportation for all athletic teams. Coordinate the use and maintenance of athletic facilities and equipment. Support the Athletic Director in the recruitment and retention of coaches and student-athletes. Assist in the development and enforcement of athletic department policies and procedures. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all student-athletes and coaches. Promote and coordinate athletic department events, such as awards ceremonies and banquets. Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and state athletic regulations and guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and licensed as an athletic trainer in Florida. Previous experience as an athletic trainer, preferably in a school setting. Strong knowledge of sports medicine, injury prevention, and rehabilitation techniques. Experience in athletic program coordination or athletic administration. Familiarity with high school athletic programs and regulations. Strong leadership and mentoring skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, administrators, parents, and healthcare professionals. Commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of student-athletes. Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
