Job Description

Job Overview Join our team as a Recreation Cheer Coach in Orange and polk counties, where your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire young athletes to reach new heights! In this energetic role, you will lead cheerleading programs designed to develop teamwork, confidence, and athletic skills among children and teens. Your passion for sports, physical activity, and coaching will create a positive, motivating environment that encourages growth and fun. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on our community's youth while honing your coaching skills. We are an after school program at several schools within Orange and Polk counties. We have two programs. One is performance rec. The athletes learn cheer and dance routines to perform at local events. We also have a recreational competitive team for our novice teams. Both practice Tice at the schools. We also have competitive cheer and dance teams in our studio and gym. Hours are Monday - Friday 3-5pm ( except Wednesday's 2-4pm) Ideal candidate can work 4 days a week but will consider 3 days a week for the right person. We have some who work 5 days a week, but must be committed. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead cheerleading practices and performances for various age groups and skill levels Provide a safe, inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development Teach cheerleading techniques, routines, stunts, and choreography with clear instructions and demonstrations Monitor participants' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills and confidence Ensure all activities adhere to safety guidelines and proper behavior management protocols Collaborate with other coaches and staff to coordinate events, competitions, and community outreach initiatives Maintain equipment, uniforms, and facility cleanliness to ensure a professional training environment Skills Prior experience in cheerleading coaching or sports coaching with a focus on youth development Strong background in physical activities such as gymnastics, dance. Knowledge of child development principles and effective behavior management strategies Experience in teaching physical education or working with children in recreational settings Proficiency in swimming or climbing activities is a plus for versatile coaching capabilities Excellent communication skills to motivate students and collaborate with team members Ability to demonstrate leadership while maintaining a positive attitude in fast-paced environments Join us as a Recreation Cheer Coach in <
