Summary:
The Swim Instructor at the Rosen Aquatic and Fitness Center will provide skill-based swim and water safety instruction to people of all ages. They will maintain constant supervision of students to ensure safety, creates positive, nurturing relationships with students and builds cooperative relationships with parents and caregivers. They will also promote and support the potential of all students in the program and facilitate peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall program experience.
Responsibilities:
Deliver swim and water safety instruction to students of all ages. Maintain constant supervision to ensure the safety of all students. Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with our values. Foster positive, nurturing relationships with students. Build cooperative relationships with parents and caregivers. Promote the potential of all students within the program. Adheres to program standards, including safety and cleanliness standards, and ensures consistency with evidence-based practices. Facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall program experience. Uphold the company's drug-free, tobacco-free, and nicotine-free policies within the workplace. All other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
Minimum one year of previous experience working as a Swim Instructor or Lifeguard required. Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules. Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. infrequently. Must be able to legally work in the USA. Education and Certification(s)/License(s): High school diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) OR Basic Swim Instructor (BSI) certifications. CPR certification First Aid certification Discover Life at
