The Lead Coach will be responsible for running drills, teaching fundamentals, maintaining structure, motivating athletes, and helping create a safe, professional, and exciting camp environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong sports background, leadership ability, and experience working with youth in a team, camp, or training environment. Key Responsibilities Lead daily drills, practices, and skill-development activities Teach fundamentals, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship Help implement Orbit League's camp curriculum and practice structure Maintain a high-energy, organized, and professional coaching environment Supervise participants and ensure safety during all camp activities Assist with setup, breakdown, and equipment organization Support the Camp Director in keeping camp on schedule Manage player engagement, effort, and behavior in a positive but firm manner Serve as a role model for athletes through attitude, professionalism, and leadership Communicate effectively with assistant coaches, staff, parents, and camp leadership Help evaluate athlete progress and encourage development Ensure drills are run efficiently to maximize reps and participation Qualifications Previous coaching, playing, or youth sports instruction experience preferred Experience working with children in camps, clinics, teams, schools, or after-school programs preferred Strong leadership, communication, and group management skills High energy, dependable, and able to maintain structure Passion for sports, youth development, and mentorship Reliable transportation and punctuality required CPR/First Aid certification preferred Background in football, youth sports, athletic training, physical education, or recreation is a plus Preferred Traits Positive attitude with strong discipline Confident leader and motivator Professional and dependable Able to command attention and keep athletes engaged Team-oriented and coachable Committed to creating a fun, safe, and structured environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, run, and actively participate for extended periods Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions when applicable Ability to lift and move sports equipment Ability to demonstrate drills and athletic movements safely Why Join Orbit League Opportunity to help build an exciting and growing youth sports organization Meaningful role in developing young athletes Positive team culture focused on excellence, discipline, and impact Growth opportunities as programs expand Indeed application note: Please submit your resume and a brief summary of your coaching, sports, or youth leadership experience.
