Instruct participants in USAG compulsory routines on Floor Exercise, Balance Beam, Uneven Bars, Vault.
Observe participants andcommunicate ways to improvetechniques learned.
Communicate effectively with youth of varying ages.
Travels and attends weekend competitions with the team gymnasts.
Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations and the use of gymnastics equipment.

Additional certifications may be required based on the coaching level. Certifications could include a Certified AAU Athletic member, registered with the state of Florida, USAG Safety Certification and USAG Professional Member.

YMCA Gymnastics Coaches manage team practices for their assigned competitive levels for children from 4 to 17 years of age. Coaches ensure team practices are run safely, consistently, efficiently and effectively. Coaches work with gymnasts, hands-on, and ensure that team gymnasts advance at appropriate levels and are trained and prepared competitions. Essential functions and responsibilities includes, but not limited to: Works closely with the Gymnastics Director, and other coaches, to attain the best results for the team and individuals.Develops weekly lesson plans to assist in program development and individual progression of skills.
