Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading the development and implementation of program functions and activities in accordance with applicable rules and regulations related to the sport. Uphold the 14 Legal Duties of a Coach. Teach the desirable traits of character such as persistence, desire to win, teamwork, and cooperation. Teach knowledge and understanding of athletics and of the fundamentals, rules, and strategies of Lacrosse. Assist in organizing and administering the athletic program so that it is closely integrated and thoroughly coordinated with the general purposes of education. Maintain inventory and ensure proper care, maintenance, and storage of all athletic equipment and supplies. Ensure that all student-athletes meet GHSA and GCPS requirements in the authorized district platform. Approve all recommendations for athletic awards. Teach the values of self-discipline, sound physical condition, healthy life style, and cooperation. Supervise the locker rooms before, during, and after practice sessions. Maintain harmonious relationship with all district employees. Ensure transportation arrangements to all athletic events, according to county procedures. Provide guidance and support to all sub-varsity level lacrosse programs.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, negotiate stairs, climb ladders, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear, manipulate tools and small items with hands, and lift and transport up to 50 pounds over short distances. The employee is required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. The employee may be subjected to a wide range of ambient temperature and humidity conditions while working on equipment under varying conditions including overhead work and work in confined spaces. Potential hazards of this position include working with electricity, working with heat and noise producing machinery and equipment, working on elevated equipment using ladders or other lifting devices, and use of chemicals and solvents.
