POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Girls Varsity Soccer Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Girls Soccer program at DMS. The Head Coach will promote athletic excellence, sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth and development while supporting the mission and values ofDMS. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, organize, and conduct practices, training sessions, and team activities. Teach fundamental and advanced soccer skills, strategies, and sportsmanship. Develop game plans and supervise athletes during competitions. Foster a positive, respectful, and disciplined team culture. Monitor student-athlete academic progress, attendance and behavior. Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices, games, and travel. Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, officials, and the athletic director/trainers and department. Coordinate team schedules, transportation, uniforms and equipment needs. Maintain inventory and proper care of athletic equipment and facilities Attend league meetings, coaches meetings, and professional development opportunities as required. Ensure compliance with all DMS (school), ILH (league), and HHSAA (state athletic association) rules and regulations. Assist with offseason conditioning, player development, and program promotion. Support fundraising and community engagement activities for the soccer program. Model professionalism, integrity, and Catholic values consistent with DMS expectations.QUALIFICATIONS
Previous coaching and/or competitive soccer experience- preferred. Knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, conditioning, and player development. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes. Current CPR/First aid certification preferred. Completion of all required school and state coaching certifications/background clearance. Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, run, and demonstrate athletic skills for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry athletic equipment up to 50 pounds. Work Environment
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required during the season. Expectations
