Apr 1, 2027 Job Description English Valleys CSD is based in North English, Iowa, which is just 30 minutes west of the Iowa City/Coralville area. A Head MS Softball Coach is responsible for leading the program with positivity and knowledge. Our MS includes girls completeing 6th grade - 8th grade. Key Responsibilities are: Leading the program: Ensuing the program operates in alignment with district values, board policy, & IGHSAU regulations. Instruction and development: The coach instructs athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual & team success. Moral and social development: The coach provides instruction that leads to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.

Team culture:

The coach fosters sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect within the team. Performance evaluation: The coach evaluates athlete performance & provides constructive feedback. Academic support: The coach monitors academic eligibility & encourages academic success.

Communication:

The coach communicates expectations, roles, & progress with athletes and parents. The Head Coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. The position includes responsibilities such as supervising all student athletes, designing clinics, and training and informing staff for growth. English Valleys CSD is an EOE.
