POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for assisting with planning, managing and directing swim team practices and ensuring the safety of participants.
JOB LOCATION
Waukee
YMCA HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE
4:45-7:30 pm Monday - Thursday
HOURLY PAY RATE
$16.00+ / hour, based on experience and credentials
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS
June 11, 2026 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Create an environment that welcomes all types of swimmers from varying levels and backgrounds.

Assist in the planning and direction of team practices.

Ability to follow and implement written workouts provided by the head coach. Attend team practices, team meets, and regular coaches meetings. Assist in development of team events and lesson plans.

Assist in coordinating team entry information.

Ensure safety of participants by enforcing policies and disciplinary rules.

Relate to individual members on a professional basis at all times.

Know emergency procedures and be able to demonstrate them.

Monitor and maintain equipment, along with notifying the supervisor or designated staff person of equipment issues.

Report specific problems or needs to the supervisor or designated staff person.

Respond to questions and concerns of program participants and families.

Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.

Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
