Middle School Assistant Basketball Coach

American Heritage Charter School is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, coach-like basketball player to join our team. This is a great opportunity for the right individual to grow with a young, fast-paced and growing program.

Responsibilities:

Coach and instruct students in all aspects of basketball including but not limited to: dribbling, dribbling drills, rebounding, passing, shooting and more. Help set up and breakdown play sheets for practices and games. Provide positive support to students and work with all staff members to create a fun and productive learning environment. Create a fun and positive learning environment for students by providing positive feedback, guidance and positive interactions. Attend all required meetings and trainings. Assist with the recruitment process Assist with the development of new student-athletes by working with coaches on developing skills, evaluating progress, and creating a long-term development plan. Assist with the training of new student-athletes as well as maintaining current student-athletes' records by following proper documentation procedures in accordance with our policies Complete required daily reporting documents.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Minimum of one year experience teaching or coaching basketball in an organized setting (preferred). Passionate about helping students succeed through hard work, positivity, hard play and a willingness to learn. Excellent verbal communication skills; written skills should be adequate to respond to emails and text messages; while writing correspondence should be adequate to respond to emails and text messages; while talking should be adequate to respond to questions from students and parents about development plans.
