Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Coach to lead our Girls Water Polo team. The ideal candidate will have experience in water polo techniques and a commitment to fostering a positive and encouraging environment at the high school level. This role would begin in early February with try outs. Practices (several times per week) and game competitions in the Chicago area coontinue through mid April. This is a part time seasonal role, with a one time stipend payment, paid at the end of the season. The stipend amount will be discussed during the initial interview conversation. Responsibilities Ensure team members are prepared for competitions at the high school level. Conduct regular practice sessions, ensuring that all participants are engaged and motivated. Monitor the safety of all athletes during practice sessions and competitions. Provide constructive feedback to athletes to help them improve their performance. Work with the LPHS Athletic Dept to ensure athlete and coach compliance. Ensure strong communication with athletes, parents and school administration. Directly arrange practices for the team, with enough planning and notice for athletes and families. Work with LPHS Boosters and families for team fundraising. Experience Previous experience in teaching physical education or sports coaching is preferred. Previous experience coaching a high school golf team is strongly preferred. A passion for aquatics and knowledge of the sport. Understanding of IHSA and CPL regulations and playing rules is strongly preferred. Ability and willingness to be available throughout the season for all tryouts, practices and competitions. Lifeguard and Water Safety Instruction certifications re required but can be arranged through CPS at no cost to the coach Lincoln Park High School is a Chicago Public School, located in the heart of Lincoln Park with overall student enrollment of ~2,200 students of very diverse backgrounds. LPHS is a neighborhood school, a magnet charter school and a highly respected International Baccalaureate School. LPHS offers over 35 sports across 3 seasons and is highly committed to athletic experiences. Coaches are an integral part of the LPHS community.
