Year-Round Employee Pay:
$20-$40/hour (depending on experience and certification) About Chicago Built Athletics Chicago Built Athletics (CBA) is a Chicago-based youth sports organization developing young athletes across the city through high-quality, accessible programming in golf, basketball, football, and more. Our golf program gives kids real reps, with a full driving range, short-game area, and on-course play at Jackson Park and South Shore Golf Courses. We also offer year-round, weather-independent training on an indoor golf simulator in Lakeshore East, close to the downtown families we serve. The Role We're hiring multiple Youth Golf Instructors to lead group instruction for kids ages 8-17. You'll run our weekly Sunday classes and our summer camp weeks, teaching fundamentals through on-course play in a fun, encouraging environment. Instruction happens both outdoors at our two adjacent courses and indoors on a golf simulator in Lakeshore East, so comfort coaching in both settings is a plus. This is a year-round role:
as the weather turns cold, the program moves fully indoors to the simulator, so instruction continues through the winter. Tell us the days that work for you and we'll build the schedule around them. We just ask that you can commit to at least three days a week (during weeks that we have summer camp scheduled), and if you'd like to work more, we're happy to have you. A nice perk:
during on-course instruction, you may get to play alongside the kids as you teach. It's not guaranteed, but when the situation allows, it's a chance to enjoy a round while you coach. Schedule Weekly Sunday afternoon classes:
driving range work, short-game practice, and on-course play Summer camps, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (includes transit time to and from the courses): July 13-17 and August 10-14, with additional weeks added as enrollment grows Cold-weather months: the program moves fully indoors to the Lakeshore East simulator, so instruction runs year-round Year-round role with strong potential for growing, recurring work as our programs expand Flexible scheduling: tell us the days that work for you and we'll build around them (minimum three days a week; more are welcome if you want them) Transportation We use Metra to transport kids to and from the golf courses when needed. Trips originate at Millennium Station (corner of Randolph and Michigan). The train drops off directly at South Shore Golf Course; for Jackson Park, it's a short 10-minute walk from the station. What You'll Do Lead group instruction in full swing, short game, putting, and on-course play Teach golf fundamentals, etiquette, rules, and basic course management in age-appropriate ways Create a safe, fun, and encouraging environment for young players of mixed skill levels Accompany and supervise kids on Metra trips to and from the golf courses, starting at Millennium Station Ensure that all athletes are picked up by a parent or legal guardian. If a participant will be leaving via alternate transportation, prior communication and approval from the parent or guardian is required. Manage instruction logistics across the range, short-game area, and course Run engaging simulator sessions (swing work, skills, and games) at the Lakeshore East indoor facility Provide simple, positive feedback to kids and communicate with parents as needed What We're Looking For Experience teaching or coaching golf to children or youth (required) Must be at least 18 years old (required) PGA/LPGA
